Greeter/Usher program for the Saturday Evening Casual Service.

Background on this Service.

In 1993, Pastor Taglauer, under the leadership of Pastor Lampe, had a preliminary meeting to find out if there was an interest in having a Casual Saturday Evening Service every week.  Several Church members attended and it was decided to try it for awhile and find  out about attendance and get some response.  

We have Greeters and Ushers but we have combined them into just one group.  We also have a Communion group.  We ask for volunteers on the first of the year for one of the groups and some times have people that will sign up for both.  We like to have enough that a person generally only serves every two months. 

We have a table set up by the Sanctuary doors and greet the people when they come in.  Hand them a pamphlet with the Saturday Evening Service and ask tem to sign a peal-N-stick label if they don't have or have forgotten their name tags.  The Greeters collect the offerings during the Service.

We have a smallish, friendly group that most people already know each others name and the names of all their families.

I have jokingly named our group "The Family Reunion Group" because that's what it feels like.

If anyone is unable to serve on the date assigned to them there is always plenty to jump-in and do the job.
