Update on Search for Associate Pastor Position

John Easterling has been assigned to Redeemer for his delayed vicarage. His original assignment had to be cancelled because the mission church that he was to serve in had financial concerns. Redeemer will gladly welcome him and his wife Nancy to be part of our family.  Information about his arrival will follow soon.

John Easterling is married to Nancy, and has two grown daughters and six grandchildren.

He was born and raised in Laurel, Mississippi and later joined the Army and was stationed in Colorado where he met Nancy. After being discharged, he attended Colorado Aero Tech where he became certified as an aircraft mechanic. John worked in the airline industry for 18 years, most recently in a management position with Continental Express Airlines in Houston, Texas. Nancy, a native of Denver, Colorado, is a high school Journalism and English teacher, also serving as the adviser for for the school yearbook and newspaper.

He and Nancy have been members of Christ-the-King Lutheran Church in Kingwood, TX for fifteen years. As a member, John was active on the worship team, drama team and taught adult Sunday School classes, as well as serving a term on the Board of Directors. Nancy was active on the worship team and in the high school youth group, where she served as Small Groups coordinator, and Sunday School teacher. He and Nancy also served as Adult Small Group leaders for over ten years.

After taking early retirement from Continental Express Airlines, John applied to Concordia Seminary and began work on a Master's of Divinity degree in the fall of 2005.
