Title * Living to Witness to the Hope

Key Verse “Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect.” 1 Peter 3:15

Key Thought * God accomplishes His purposes through the witness that we give in word and in deed.

INTRODUCTION

1.      What standards do you use to distinguish if an event is good or bad?

2.      God’s Word sets the standard for the Christian and gives us hope.

CONTEXT

1.      Peter tells his readers to be ready to testify to the hope in them – 1 Peter 3:15

2.                  Through the study of God’s Word we grow up in our faith – 1 Peter 2:2 3. God’s Word opens our mind to a secure hope – Romans 15:4

KEY THOUGHTS

1.      Our lifestyle is one of the best ways to witness to an unbeliever – 1 Peter 3:1-2

2.                  The way we treat people is also a part of our witness – 1 Peter 3:7 3. Our challenge is to live a life that brings glory to God – 1 Peter 2:12

CLOSING THOUGHTS

1.      We all desire to proclaim Christ the Victorious King – Revelation 1:7

2.      At times it is difficult to talk about the crucified Christ – 1 Corinthians 1:23 3. Witness in confidence that your words will make a difference – Isaiah 55:10-11
