Key Thought * God has promised to be with us always, and will make us strong, firm and steadfast in all trials and temptations. INTRODUCTION 1. Have you ever done anything courageous? 2. Our nature is to avoid confrontation rather than face it. BE SELF CONTROLLED AND ALERT 1. The Bible commands us to be strong and courageous 1 Peter 5:8 2. Gideon is a good example of how even heroes of faith are afraid Judges 6:27 3. Even Peter was not as courageous as he thought he could be Luke 22:56-57 STAND FIRM IN THE FAITH 1. Through faith Joshua was ready to enter the promised land Numbers 14:8 2. Through faith in God, David was able to stand against Goliath 1 Samuel 17:37 3.
